Your choice of eyeshadow dramatically defines the appearance of your eyes. Eyeshadow can enhance the colour of your iris; soften or intensify your regard with sheer matte or rich shimmery textures; and transform the perceived shape of your eyes with application techniques like shading and highlighting. Choosing the shade that suits you best

It鈥檚 actually the colour and highlights of your hair rather than the colour of your eyes that will guide you through the colour range to find your perfect shades. A colour may appear softer or brighter, depending on how light or dark your complexion is. Products sheer in texture will reveal themselves only on a pale complexion; deeper skin tones require richer textures with shimmer.

The warm palette鈥攃hampagne, peach, copper, warm green, or golden brown鈥攕uits women with golden blonde, strawberry blonde, red, or brown hair with golden undertones.

The cool palette鈥攑ink, violet, blue, turquoise, cool green, or brown鈥攍ooks great with grey, ash blond, brown with burgundy undertones, or black hair.

The neutral colours鈥攑each, grey, or neutral brown鈥攁re universal for every complexion and hair.

Highlighting a spot above the iris with a complimentary eyeshadow will enhance the iris colour. Burgundy accentuates green; golden brown is good for blue; soft peach or apple green for grey; and violet or light blue for brown eyes.

A duotone palette is a foolproof choice of eyeshadow products鈥攖wo easy-to-blend, colour-coordinated shades are ideal for daily makeup. You may use eyeshadow combinations such as pastel with dark and metallic with matte, but make sure you choose colours from the same (warm or cool) palette. Different palettes such as baby blue with gold or soft pink with warm brown can give you a bold and stylish look; however, the most combinations will look garish and blatant. Be very careful with yellow-green colours if you have a pinkish complexion because they may make your eyes look bruised.

Matching eyeshadow to your outfit

For party makeup, use bright and dark colours to attract more attention to your eyes, choosing them according to your outfit hues but not the colour of your iris. If you are wearing a blue blouse to go with your blue eyes, don鈥檛 use any more blue eyeshadow!

Three or more colour-coordinated shadows can be tedious for everyday makeup, but these can immensely enhance the beauty of your eyes when you really need to bring them forward. Choose base, highlighting and contouring colours from different palettes for special effect only and remember that blending more then three distinct shades can give you more of a mess than a rainbow.

Coloured shimmer added to eyeshadow gives it a very rich, iridescent colour that makes any eyes look irresistibly sparkly and sexy. On mature eyes, excessive shimmer will accentuate wrinkles, but you can use it in moderation for highlighting under the eyebrow and above the iris. Fine glitter added to matte eyeshadow makes eyes look shinier without accentuating wrinkles. However, if you wear contact lenses, avoid glittery eyeshadow because the particles can end up inside your eyes; another glittery makeup such as eye pencil may be safer to wear.

Avoid bright colours if your eye whites are off-white; bright cool is not flattering for reddish eyes, and bright warm aggravates yellowness. Dark shades might be more flattering for your eye whites.

Remember that dark eye makeup looks great on young women, but is not always flattering on mature faces. At a certain age, women should switch to natural eye makeup once and for all.

your very pretty bye the way.
