Are redheads feisty ?

My hair is quite grey now. I'm 63 and have had my fill of rage and pain.

Are redheads feisty ?

Well, I am one feisty redhead. But I am reluctant to fall within the stereo typical definition of our type.

I do not have a temper. I am mellow and accommodating. And if one type of person could be rare, I would note that a redhead would be the best qualified. Here is why:

Redheads require 20% more anesthesia for surgery. This is not theory, it is well documented. We also require more pain medications for the same effect.

Redheads also have much more copper in their bodies. Yes, it makes us oranger, but it affects more than that. In fact, redheads tend to bleed more, clot less. Due to this and more, redheads go into labor faster and tend to have complications related to bleeding more often.

I have a cardiothoracic friend (in Philly, no less) who swears that red heads tend to have different vasculature than others. What he meant was that he could always tell he was working on a red head in surgery, that the heart and relevant tissues responded differently than others.

Of course our spotted skin is fun to speculate on...but I can only say that it makes us fit into crowds better.

And lastly, I would say that redheads need to be feisty just to survive our childhood. Afterall, weren't we all teased to death. I have yet to find a man that doesn't love his red head if he has managed to snag one.

Redheads don't live for rage and pain. What we do is soak up our environment more than perhaps others would.

So have you mellowed? I hope so. Like a fine wine and good cheese. Lets just hope you stay out of surgery. Given we are so special, it is best to admire us from afar....and pet us in a most gentle way.

I think we can be very feisty! I know my grandmother was, and I think I am, too.

Yes you look like you have mellowed quite nicely. When I seen fiesty redhead I thought of my grandson. He actually bounces. We kept him for 2wks and I did not know what was going on the whole time. To the ones who have red haired children to the ones who marry them all I can say is Bless You. And to the rest of the world that has to deal with them WATCH OUT.

Hmmmmmm.... I have to say that stereotype fits me. I can get quite feisty, lol, especially when I am standing up for my beliefs, or for the people I love. Or when someone makes me angry........

But I have a friend who is also a redhead, and she is one of the most mellow people I know.

I think you can be fiesty no matter what color hair you have. I think that saying just makes people think that. :) I have dark brown hair and can get pretty fiesty if I feel like it. lol
