I just have to ask.?

Mr Buisness Owner. I know that if a person comes in looking for a job,and the grey hair is seen, That Individual has a poor chance of getting hired. I have come up aginst that quite a lot.

So if any additional new trades are now on your resume from some new job training,, along with the skills from previous work, and a person has spent all the cash to retrain, the fact still remains, that just because we are gray, over 55 move a bit slower than the young people, the chances are still aginst us any way, Right???

I just have to ask.?

what's your question? yes, ageism exists. just like racism, sexism, and prejudice against overweight people. sucks, but that's the way it is my friend!

I just have to ask.?

I don't think in all professions it would be against you. I think alot of people are ignorant and have a stereo type of older people, also the medical insurance is higher for you and for them to cover, you have more expierence and there for know what you should be making for whatever job you are applying for. But if they higher someone younger, chances are they can pay them less and benifits are chealper. But it all depends on the field. Like Walmart, Target, Starbucks, they all higher any age group. But if it is something alittle more professional then yes they will tend to be more picky.

Good luck. I am sure you will find something and you will love it!

I just have to ask.?

Actually , 50+ is about the age that self employment becomes an option . . .

Use your wisdom for that !

I just have to ask.?

Age has something to do with work, life etc. 20+ people just want to find a job and have money to spend. 30+ people learn to climb the ladder. 40+ people experienced some failures in life. 50+ people start to mature. 60+ people start to have wisdom.

For 50+ people, one cannot compete based on strength. They have to base on life experience and wisdom. The key is never give up and always look at the good experiences you have gained in the past.

I just have to ask.?

well i think that also happens on the low end and recent college grads because we dont have the years to have experience.....at least gray hair means experience
