if you have pale skin do you look ill and washed out? Or is it actually a nice look. I have pale skin, dark hair and grey eyes. What does everybody think?

I would say it depends on how well you keep your self put together! I too am pale skinned, but I wear cloths that bring out the color if my eye's, hair, and facial features . . . you do that and it will make your skin look healthy and milky versus just pale!

i`m really pale skinned with dark hair and i hate it,so tend to put on moisturiser with self tan in it,it doesn`t make me look really dark but gives me a little glow,if i don`t i do look tired and washed out,i also find that when i do go for like spray tan it makes me feel more confident,but if you feel ok being pale then i`m sure you look fine.

I think that combination is gorgeous! I can't speak for everybody else but dark hair, colored eyes, and pale skin is a great combination. Ohh and by the way I find that people seem to prefer whatever they are not. Example: straight hair when they have curly hair. It's weird that they always seem to not be complacent with their looks.

strangely enough i also have fair skin, grey eyes and dark hair. i used to be a goth (and by that i mean a traditional goth - not a mosher with eyeliner and black nail varnish) and at that time it worked great for me. i had grown out of that by the time i was 18 but even now i love the way it looks - i make sure i never get a tan by using a high spf and the only thing i dont like is the fact i have pale legs! use your looks to your advantage - this combination with the right make up can look very striking (which i would choose over just 'pretty' any day). smoky eyes and a nice lippy works well.

It's probably a fashion thing. Personal taste of the person who's opinion you value (boyfriend, husband etc) will aslo affect your own judgement.

In Edwardian %26amp; Georgian times it was considered very attractive for a lady to have pale skin. Any woman with tanned or weathered skin was considered to be of low status because she "must work for living".

You may have seen those little fire screens on poles in Stately Homes. These were to prevent the heat of the fire from reddening their faces.

Personally, I think it's the contrast between a girl's skin colour and the shades of her hair, eyes and lips that matter not the 'absolute' pale or pinkness, darkness etc.

In my opinion, there are a load of very beautiful women with skin shades from very pale all the way to ebony.

Remember, Count Dracula and The Countess Bathory were both famous for their pale skins - and they were certainly "interesting".

i think its an interesting look. some people can look washed out but thats normally when they dont look after their skin and it looks grey and tired.

I have pale skin, green eyes and dark brown hair but that does not mean I look ill or washed out. I think I am quite good looking! There are many people that are pale but that does not mean that they look ill!!

Pale and interesting is true and good. Why? Because the person who is pale, clearly does not indulge in sunbathing and sun bed tanning. If they are young and avoid the sun, then they are less likely to end up with a face looking like the roadmap of Great Britain when they reach their forties, fifties etc.

quite nice actually, and different! I'm very fair skinned, very dark brown hair - but not black, with mid-blue eyes. We used to all joke about me being the milkmans, cos everyone else is darker skinned then me in my immediate family. I don't tan - Ijust go lobster red then white again! I have no tan lines or anything! lol, and I've been abroad a few times over! lol. Oh well, its life. My skin is quite sensitive, but aprt from that, I'm just like anyone else - living life the way it's dished to me....lol!

I love both extremes of skin colour! Pale is beautiful... especially with dark hair... My boyfriend has pale skin, Black hair and Blue eyes... hes the hottest guy ever.... i also love dark skin....

There is nothing wrong with having fair skin, in fact it's a unique combination with dark hair and actually considered an asset. If you want to work on getting more color, you might want to think about a sunscreen when you go out in the sun, the kind that allows you to tan at the same time still prevents from burning.
