I know stress can cause health problems make you gain/lose weight, sleep problems etc. But i wanted to know what are the side affects of long term stress. simply, i've had a very stressful 2 years. I usually handle my stress by freaking out and crying and not getting enough sleep. Sometimes I burn (weed, yes i know dont give me lectures) which I only tend to do when these situations happen. I can't see any other way other then punching someone in the face, to deal with it. I'm starting to get grey hair and I'm only 21. So pretty basically, what else is going to happen, if i cannot avoid this or handle it in a better way?
What are the negative affects of continual(sp?) stress?
You will begin to experience extreme headaches and stomach pains (it may even begin to develop into a stomach ulcer which will result in extreme stomach pains. The greying hair will only get worse if you don't calm down. Take it from someone who has a lot of stress (I work in law enforcement) and I can tell you that I started going grey at 20. You need to find a diversion to deal with all of your held in stress or it will just get worse.

A deficiency in vitamins will most likely occur ( along with other things, but I'm not too sure) , especially in the B vitamins. You may be tired, fatigued, confused sometimes, tingling in hands, supressed immune system.
I HIGHLY recommend you take a sublingual (under the tounge) B-12 vitamin, along with a B-complex, and a multi vitamin. Also exercising may help relieve stress. Here is the sublingual site if you are interested. http://www.sublingualb12.com/
This may sound weird, but why not acheive an orgasm...that may release lots of stress.

well, they say that cardio (running, walking, etc...) will help relieve stress which I do but sometimes just burning one is the only thing that relieves my stress. I say legalize it!
What are the negative affects of continual(sp?) stress?
More stress is going to happen if you cannot handle it. However, the way to handle it is just accept what is. Stress is a result of resisting what is. So want what is and no more stress.

O'kay no lectures. Stress can attack the immune system and yes it can cause premature aging. It can be a cause for anxiety and depression and there are medications. If you do not properly maintain a healthy diet it can lead to high blood pressure. High blood pressure can also be a key to a short temper. There are ways to alleviate stress without the one you mentioned. Yoga has become a great combatant so have many types of exercise. There are breathing exercises as well as physical ones such as jogging, biking, walking or even an aerobic workout. Life is full of stressers and dealing with them is an important key in how we manage everything else in our lives. Take a deep breath and try to keep things in perspective and tell yourself that your going to control the stress and not let it control you. Good Luck!

Your immune system is damaged due to various secretions into the blood stream.
I have seen research that indicates that participating in yoga, perhaps at a deep level, can un-secrete the chemicals that are secreted during stressful situations. If you practice yoga on a regular basis and when needed during stressful situations, this may offer some help. You might consider some sort of therapist as well, there may be life situational aspects to manage or you might have some sort of chemical imbalance, anything is possible I guess.
